Standard Features:

• 125mm diameter nylon castors fitted as standard.

Operation Instructions:

1. Position the forklift forks to the correct distance to align with the skip's fork pockets.
2. Remove fork pocket heel pins from the skip.
3. Drive the forklift forks into the fork pockets.
4. Insert heel pins behind the fork heels and secure them with the safety lynch pins.
5. Move the skip to the yard skip and align the actuator plates over the yard skip’s side.
6. Lower the actuator plates onto the yard skip side to activate the release hooks.
7. Keeping the mast vertical, lift the forklift carriage so the drop bottom door clears the yard skip and reverse to disengage.
8. Lower the skip to the ground to re-latch the drop bottom door. Some forward tilt may be required depending on site conditions.

Maintenance:

• Inspect weekly, focusing on:
  • Weld points.
  • Wear and distortion of fork pockets and heel pin attachments.
  • Lock latches and spring condition.
  • General structural integrity.
• Ensure all bolts are tight.
• Grease pivot bars, latches, and locks regularly.
• Oil the springs to maintain smooth operation.
• Treat surface rust with proprietary inhibitors, primers, and paint.
• Re-certify every six months as per HSE requirements.

Health & Safety Notes:

• Ensure operators are trained in the skip’s operation and maintenance.
• Confirm the forklift and attachment can handle the intended load.
• Keep personnel at a safe distance during operation.
• Verify that heel pins are correctly inserted and retained before each use.
• Do not shock load the skip or drive into fork pockets without removing heel pins.
• If failure occurs, do not attempt to repair while off the ground—return the skip to the floor for inspection.
• Always ensure release hooks are engaged before each operation.
